Both Deceased Students Identified in the Ivy League School Incident as Police Persist in Search for Killer.

Two students who were killed in Saturday’s tragic incident on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their killer carried on following the discharge by Rhode Island officials of the sole person of interest in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The student Ella Cook, a second-year scholar from Alabama, was remembered as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a gathering on Sunday.

Cook was vice-president of Brown’s chapter of the College Republicans organization, the group said. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also posted condolences on social media, remarking: “It's indescribable. Thinking of her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The second fatality was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his initial year at the Ivy League university, family members said.

His name was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of pursuing a career in neurosurgery and helping people,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

An additional nine individuals were hurt in Saturday’s attack in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the institution's end-of-term tests.

Officials stated on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man arrested in a raid at a lodging about 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“A perpetrator remains free,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Investigations can lead one way, and then you have to regroup and head another way, and that is the current situation over the last day or so.”

Public Fear

Providence’s mayor, Brett Smiley, acknowledged: “We know that this is likely to cause new worry for our public”.

The shooter opened fire inside a lecture hall in the engineering building on Saturday, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, a authority informed the Associated Press.

Officers that raided the hotel seized a pair of pistols and magazines when the individual was detained, the news agency reported.

Condition of the Injured

Regarding the nine injured, one pupil was released from the hospital, said the university president, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private K-12 school in Durham, North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was one of the critically injured.

More Condolences

Cook was remembered at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A reverend stated, “She was an incredible, grounded, faithful bright light not only during her upbringing... but at the university she was a radiant presence in that specific location as well.”

The president of College Republicans, Martin Bertao, released remarks from the organization. “Ella was known for her courageous, valiant, and compassionate nature as she worked for her branch and other students,” he said.

The US ambassador, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by Umurzokov’s death in a statement. “We offer our heartfelt sympathies to his relatives, friends, and schoolmates and mourn the loss of his potential.”
