Fresh Particulars Come to Light Concerning the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the shocking passing of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

According to a report quoting a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.

After gaining access to the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The confidential informant challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

Furthermore refuted published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to descriptions of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source stated they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
