The Liverpool head coach conceded that it's expected for concerns to be asked about his position after another heavy defeat against PSV Eindhoven.

Liverpool suffered their 9th defeat in twelve games, representing the team's poorest streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie title holders on a tough night at Anfield.

“I'm confident, I am OK, I have got a lot of backing from management,” the coach commented.

“It's important to change things and secure a win of course but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that questions are asked.”

He added, “I accept my situation. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a difficult position but it's necessary that we improved our results.”

Talks with The Board

When asked to elaborate on his conversations with the team officials, Slot revealed:

“We communicate frequently. They are helpful to the team and for me and those talks happen but they don’t call me all the time each day to say they have faith in me.”

He further stated, “During our regular conversations we have I sense the belief. But I haven’t spoken to them after this game yet so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Problems and Squad Reaction

The manager expressed regret over recurring shortcomings from his team in their European loss, namely poor finishing and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was more direct in his view of the club’s predicament.

“I don’t have the solutions. Honestly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones remarked.

“It is unacceptable. I don't need to wait to reflect. I’m past being angry internally. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He went on, “It’s hard because I play for the club I love. I'm a supporter, and I've watched this club for years.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a spell like this with results this poor.”

He stated, “However we still have the emblem on our chest. And until that badge is removed, we'll continue to battle.”

“We’re going to try to bring this squad back to the top, show everyone again what Liverpool stands for and the reason it's called the top club in the planet.”

“But right now, we’re in the shit and we have to turn it around.”
